Summer vacation looks a bit different this year so we're helping you embrace the STAY-cation!

We're all trying to stay closer to home this year and while that might mean your typical summer vacation was canceled, it doesn't mean there's no way to enjoy the summer. So, we've compiled a list of staycation spots within driving distance of San Clemente. Stay safe and enjoy!

1. Laguna Beach State Marine Conservation

For beautiful views and a peaceful beach walk, head to Laguna Beach State Marine Conservation Area - you won't be disappointed. Keep in mind that much of this area is a "no-take" zone that aims to protect wildlife. Even if this is just a stop on your way to do other things, the stunning views are worth the detour.

2. Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

Get some much-needed sunshine and enjoy the outdoors at this sprawling, 8,000-acre park where you can camp, enjoy wildlife sightings, nature walks, trails & more. We recommend hiking or biking one of the many trails and enjoying a picnic lunch with a view.

Staying Home Instead?

Luckily there are lots of ways to still enjoy the summer while staying safe.

3. Dana Point Headlands Conservation Area

Dana Point Headlands is a protected area with stunning ocean views and sandy beaches. They welcome recreation and have walking trails,  scenic overlooks and wide-open areas. When you're ready for a bite to eat, stop by on Sunday of each week to enjoy the farmers market!

4. Top of the World Hike in Laguna Beach

Also known as Alta Laguna Park, this hike is on the shorter side at 2.4 miles but that just means that the payoff at the end is that much closer! When you get here be aware of driveways and no parking areas but once you're ready to head up the hike grab your water and head out because parking is free. Bring your pup for a fun day trip or make it a true staycation by checking out local restaurants and head to the beach.
